The cases of COPD diagnosed has increased substantially in the past few year.   Companies such as NBN Infusions have a variety of products, supplies and services to help those living with this disease.  Our respiratory therapists and educators make a point of stressing lifestyle changes that help patients manage their COPD.  One of the keys to managing COPD  for patients is minimizing exposure to second hand smoke and air pollution.  Second hand smoke within our own dwelling is very easy to control by minimizing the people that we come into contact with that smoke.

Air pollution, on the other hand is not quite as easy to control due to environmental issues, where we live and where we work.   This can be a huge problem for people dealing with COPD especially if there is an abundance of air pollution in the area in which they live.

There are areas within the United States that have higher levels of pollution in the air and others that are in the top Five of BEST places to live if you are living with COPD.  Take a look at the infographic below to see where your state ranks.
