Congressman Robert Andrews visited The NBN Group

September 16, 2013

This morning Congressman Robert Andrews visited The NBN Group, a home healthcare company located in Cherry Hill New Jersey. In an open discussion the congressman addressed the concerns of the employees regarding the conflict in Syria. He confirmed his support of a proposal that would use a peaceful approach to strip Syria of its lethal chemical weapons and avoid use of military force. He also discussed the many questions regarding the increasing cost of medical insurance and how to navigate the different programs that will be available under the affordable care act as of October 2013.

One employee asked about the Medicare competitive bidding process for HME, and expressed his worry that the effects on both the provider and the patients will be catastrophic because it would reduce the access to care, patient choice and the quality of care for seniors and people with disabilities, as well as forcing HME providers to lay off good employees, and in some cases, close their business. Congressman Andrews responded that he would do everything he could to lobby for change.
