New Behavioral Network is very excited to host our Explorer’s Club Summer Camp for August, 2011 at Westfield Friends School, Cinnaminson, NJ.  This fantastic summer camp for children with developmental disabilities and or behavioral challenges had rave reviews last summer!

Mission: The Explorer’s Club Summer Camp is dedicated to providing a fun, therapeutic environment to promote positive peer interactions for children with behavioral challenges.  Our goal is to prepare the kids for the school year and arm them with tools to help them have a successful school year.  Our team of professionals helps the children to enhance social skills, make and sustain friendships all while having a blast.   We also help develop coping skills than can be used when frustration arises or anxiety sets in.

We will incorporate fun activities with:

  • Developing social skills and independent living skills
  • Sports activities
  • Making and maintaining friends
  • Building self esteem
  • Coping skills when frustration occurs
  • Cooperation & team building

Our team that create the curriculum include a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, an Occupational Therapist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and many of our Behavior Interventionists.

Sample activities:

  • Bowling
  • Games / sports
  • Yoga
  • Music
  • Art class
  • Swimming
The types of diagnoses we see in our kids can be Autism, Asperger’s, PDD-NOS, Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, Depression, ODD, Fragile X, to name a few. The types of kids who attend our camp range from very high functioning individuals who really just need a little help with social skills to some non-verbal individuals who attend with their own one on one instructor.  We provide an environment where we have a minimum of 1 staff to 4 camper ratio to ensure that every child has fun and makes some progress towards the goals the parents have outlined for us to work on.
